What are the benefits of 100% recycled plastic slip sheets over pallets

100% Recycled plastic slip sheets are sheets of thick recycled plastic with a 3-6 inch lip (commonly referred to as a pull tab) on one or more sides. They are handled using specialized push/pull attachments mounted on forklift trucks.

REPSCO’s 100% Recycled Plastic slip sheets present a cost-effective, environmentally friendly substitute for conventional wood pallets and fiber slip sheets. These sheets are crafted from predominantly recycled high-density polyethylene (HDPE), making them a sustainable choice for replacing or complementing wood pallets in logistics and storage settings.

Slip sheets work best for merchandise with a heavy uniform case pack, products which “cube out nicely,” according to Lee Bandlow, logistics manager at Home Depot, one of the pioneer companies in slip sheet usage. They have been used successfully in the food and beverage industry for more than two decades. Because they’re moisture and bacteria resistant, 100% Recycled Plastic slip sheets are ideal for ocean-bound container shipping.

With an approximately 85% lower cost than wood pallets, they demand less space for both storage and transport, leading to significant reductions in transportation costs. Additionally, they align with Repsco’s GREEN & GOLD initiative, promoting recyclability within a closed-loop system.
